Pay Grade 34. Minimum $9.55/hr. This position works Sunday through Thursday late afternoons and evenings, providing circulation, reserve, and basic information assistance at three public service counters.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting students, faculty, staff, and community patrons at the Circulation and 2nd and 3rd Floor Service Desks.
- Assuming responsibility for all aspects of building security and circulation services in the absence of the Building/Evening Supervisor.
- Processing and maintenance of reserve materials for classes.
- Providing direct supervision to student workers at three patron service counters.
- Performing other departmental duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma required; 2 years of college preferred.
- Strong public service orientation, critical thinking skills, and computer skills.
- Ability to interpret policies and/or procedures, as well as ability to be diplomatic in difficult situations.
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of constituencies verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Prefer previous library work experience; knowledge of copyright law and fair use; knowledge of Virtua and Blackboard software; supervisory experience.
