This position ensures compliance with scholarship contracts and accurate reporting and reimbursement in federal grant and loan programs. Responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance to university departments on how to monitor departmental scholarship accounts, including reviewing scholarship agreements and balances in scholarship accounts.
- Performs returns of Title IV funds calculation for students with aid who withdraw from the University; communicate with the student regarding repayment requirements; communicate repayments with federal and state agencies.
- Evaluates, reconciles, maintains and reports on the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Stafford Loan, and UC Foundation Scholarships.
- Set up new fund codes in Banner; ensure that involved parties are notified of account establishment; maintain and reconcile funds in Banner.
- Identify students who are eligible to receive donor based scholarships that are initiated by Financial Aid; award and renew various scholarships based on donor criteria.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management or related field OR Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years experience directly related to job requirements.
- Minimum of two years experience in accounting, budget, or fiscal management.
- Experience with federal financial aid programs strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of financial and office related software, particularly Excel; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with SAP based accounting software and/or Banner software preferred.
- Must possess high degree of accuracy and thoroughness while working in fast-paced environment.
