Position Description

This position is responsible for the day to day research activities within the research program, funded from an NIH grant for duration of three years. Responsibilities include:

  • Lab duties including using cloning and molecular biology techniques
  • Preparing DNA and RNA samples, PCR and RT-PCR
  • Analyzing RNA expression in zebrafish embryos using in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry
  • Maintaining zebrafish stocks and the laboratory
  • Placing order for reagents
  • Maintaining laboratory notebooks
  • Assisting with training of students and new personnel in the laboratory

QUALIFICATIONS:                                                        

  • Must have Bachelor’s in relevant discipline or equivalent
  • Prefer Master’s or Ph. D.
  • Must have working knowledge of laboratory techniques and instrumentation
  • Prefer practical experience with the zebrafish system
