This position is responsible for the day to day research activities within the research program, funded from an NIH grant for duration of three years. Responsibilities include:
- Lab duties including using cloning and molecular biology techniques
- Preparing DNA and RNA samples, PCR and RT-PCR
- Analyzing RNA expression in zebrafish embryos using in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry
- Maintaining zebrafish stocks and the laboratory
- Placing order for reagents
- Maintaining laboratory notebooks
- Assisting with training of students and new personnel in the laboratory
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Bachelor’s in relevant discipline or equivalent
- Prefer Master’s or Ph. D.
- Must have working knowledge of laboratory techniques and instrumentation
- Prefer practical experience with the zebrafish system
